Is Ron Paul a Digg Spammer?

Date November 14, 2007

Well, I guess that depends on how you look at it.  He most likely isn’t spamming Digg with tons of submits from random Ron Paul blogs, but somebody appears to be.

It struck me odd this afternoon when I was looking at the upcoming stories.  The first thing I thought was weird was that there were no top user’s stories in the top 4.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.  The second thing that caught my eye was that the 4 top stories were all related to Ron Paul.  Check it out…

The top story had 218 diggs, but wouldn’t go popular and this is with a fairly new user (whom of course had only submitted Ron Paul stories).  So I pinged Brent and asked him WTF?  Why is this story not going to the FP?  Does Digg hate Ron Paul?  His response was nope, but the community is tired of all the Ron Paul spam.

So apparently, these stories are getting buried rather quickly, but these four somehow made it to the top fast and one of them did go to the front page shortly after I took the screen shot. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if it got buried from there.

So if you’re a Ron Paul spammer, looks like they’re on to ya!
