What’s The Glory in Being a Top Stumbler?
November 8, 2007
In the beginning of the year I started working on building my profile in StumbleUpon. I really enjoy spending time on Stumble and have seen some hysterically funny and amazingly boring stuff on there. Nonetheless, I use it daily. I always admired the people on the "Top Stumblers" page. A few befriended me, but most did not. I always figured that the Top Stumblers held an imaginary key to thousands of page views within a moments notice. Well, the truth is…not really.
Much to my surprise, I ended up on this page. Yep, I’m a "Top Stumbler"! Now don’t get me wrong, I love it. It is after all what I wanted to be when I started stumbling. It’s just that there is no ‘magic traffic button’. It’s kinda the same as before. Not much changes except for I get more friends that add me now and I get spammed like crazy.
Not a day goes by that I don’t get hit up with messages like these…

Messages like this didn’t come to me before my avatar appeared on the Top Stumblers page. In fact, the only reason I knew I was a Top Stumbler was because I started getting these messages.
So, I guess it comes with the territory. Am I complaining? Not really about the spam, but would I have liked to have the magic traffic button? Definitely, but with or without it, I love being on that page. It’s really just a status thing, but what’s life anyway without a little status?
So, if you know me, it shouldn’t take you long to figure out who I am on that page. When you do, if we aren’t already SU friends, add me. Just don’t send me a message asking me to thumb up your page and expect 10,000 visitors in an hour. Sorry to burst your bubble, but my thumbs up is not super charged.
If you aren’t stumbling yet, what are you waiting for? There’s almost 4 million stumblers out there, get with the program.

Thanks for the great post,
I guess with great powers comes great responsibilities! haha I’m just kidding.
I guess been a top stumbler these days is exactly the same as been a real-life celebrity
